Mercury takes the colour of the planet it joins. With Jupiter it leans toward learning and counsel. With Saturn it becomes careful, sometimes dry. With Mars it argues. Read the conjunction before you call Mercury simply good. The charts still mark it as a natural benefic.
Emerald is the stone classically tied to Mercury. It is discussed for speech, study and trade when Mercury helps the chart. A afflicted Mercury is not improved by wearing the stone on guesswork.
